I am trying to repair a stock SMC /fiberglass hood that will eventually go on my 83 Z/28. The hood is in good condition, but someone cut out the 2 rectangular openings where the small lovers bolt on in the center of the hood. . I am looking for a wrecked hood or just the center section of the hood to make shipping easy.

 

Just fiberglass the holes shut.

I had an 83 crossfire with factory cowl openings. When I converted to Carb I simply put blue tape on the top of the hood to close the openings, flipped the hood, and fiberglassed the back of the holes closed. Once the fibreglass epoxy/resin started to cure I pulled of the tape; nice flat surface, looked fine, worked great, cheap.... and best of all - Holes sealed !



It's sure going to be faster than trying to find someone willing to cut up a factory glass hood !

Hey... ya never know....

Just so happens I havea fiberglass SMC hood in rough shape.
Would need some fiberglass work to make it pretty again, so there lies the reason it probably hasn't sold it yet. Some chips and dings along the edges.

For the right price I'd cut the center out and send it to you.
The louver actuator sytem and everything is 100% complete.
