Lexan Windows

Has anyone ever cut a rear glass out of flat lexan? how about a windsheild?
Any way to form Lexan to work as door glass?

I've seen it advertised in magazines. If you are replacing something that's flat, a sheet of Lexan from Home Depot might work. Otherwise, it's going to be tough. Start priming the checkbook, the stuff isn't all that cheap.

I know that with lexan RC car bodies (almost paper thin) you can use just a hair dryer to make it soft enough to shape.

I've done it to RC bodies... as long as you have something for it to 'sag' over once its heated up it can be done. You could use glass hatch window as the mold for it to 'sag' down over.

But remember, RC bodies are paper thin.. you probably want alot more heat for thick lexan you'd use for a rear window.

Cool Car!! I've aquired a fiberglass notchback, so that handles the hatch, but I'm still going to buy a lexan windshield.
I wanna see pics of the sidepipes.

Great idea with the lexan hatch, but the last thing I'd want to do is remove weight from the _rear_ of the car.

Also, if I were gonna sacrified my windshield wipers, I'd have moved the whole firewall back and either set the engine back, or put in a bigger one

I formed new lexan light covers for my tempo. I stuck it in the oven at 350 for 5 minutes...when it came out I formed it around the head light. SO!! if you get yourself a big ... like real big oven...your set.
