2nd Gen filler point in a 3rd Gen bird
Greetings,
I had a thought the other night...On my convertible, the rear trunk key spot doesn't do anything anymore, as the hatch is opened only by the hatch popper (Custom job as part of the convertible conversion), and I was wondering if anyone has every moved their fuel filling spot to behing the center panel like on a 2nd gen bird...I was thinking about dropping the old tank, and putting a summit fuel type cell in the rear, and was thinking it would be pretty cool to have the neck end-up at the back...
Has anyone done anything like this?

Nope, never tried it. However, I imagine that the depth of the "hole" in the back of our cars would give you some problems. It seems like your filler neck would have to come through forward sheet metal of the hole into the interior of the car and then through the back sheet metal to your outside access. Sound right to you?

Kind of...Pretty much. I was going to drop the old tank, and run new lines to the cell, which I was going to put i the storage well in the very back...So I didn't think it'd be too far to that panel...But, good to know anyway...It'd probably be more work than it's worth...
Thanks for the input!
