corvette rear end bumber with lights

I am thinking about undertaking a project for my camaro by making the back end look like a newer vette with lights and everything. I was wondering if anyone has tried this before or if anyone knows how I should even start! I was going to get it made from fiberglass. I am also going to be putting on a low-rise spoiler. I will also run the exhaust to the middle and run dual tips on each pipe. I have been toying with this idea for about 2 years now and I think this next tax return season that I will actually do it. ANY THOUGHTS??

i think your f*in nuts,
go for it,that'll be badass if you can do it. id think it could be done, might be a lil tricky molding it to the rear quarter panels. but if you can do it,more power to you. i always think its cool when ppl try new ****.go for it man:hail:

That is actually my next project on my car once the chasis and roll cage is in this month.

I'm going to cut the bumper and and honey comb out and cut a section out and push it back in. next going to make a mold and make a fiberglass piece to fill in the quarters and back panel. Only major diff I'm planning is maybe retaining the stock tail lights but pushing them out to sit flush with the new rear section.

Yeah I know that it sounds alittle nuts but I think it would look awsome!! Once that is done I am getting my car painted black with red SS stripes and purple ghost flames down the sides I already started putting in a custom sound system done by me of course. Well it will be a long road with this camaro...basically it is in really bad shape. It runs and everything works but it needs new paint, carpet, and a headliner. So far I replaced the seats with 30th ann. seats, dropped a 350 in it and some other slight things also. Anyone else have thoughts on this project?

sounds cool, ive painted alot of cars now, and if i were you i wouldnt do stripes and flames... might be a little to busy. if u do the stripes on the hood,do the hockystick sripes on the sides, but i dont think stripes and flames mix, but i could be wrong, good luck

Thats an awsome job you did on that camaro CamaroStud1988! How much should a custom job like I was talking about (minus the stripes) cost? I live in NC right now but in Jan I will be moving to Georgia. Where are you at in these great United States? THANKS!!

Sounds like a tight idea! Go for it man..Let us know how it works out.....yea that last picture...that guy damaged that car in my opinion .... I would die if my car looked like that ...mykx...you bought the body kit!! :hail: that will be the best $995 you spend ...didnt it come with the front and rear bumber/extentions??? or is it just the front and rear pannels...red johny...you can do anything with a car or truck..but the crazier and coole the idea the harder and more expensive Good Luck!

It comes with the extensions for the front nothing on the rear. But I'm going to go a different route. I've cut the nose down the center and added about a 4inch drop to it and opened it up kinda like the newer noses on some of the compacts. I'm in the process of making the old modified nose into a mold to fiberglass a new one and possible sell them in the future. On the rear I was going to block it off and go with the vette look like I said earlier.

No reason to have the car look life everyone elses that bought the same body kit as me. Need to do something to stand out in the crowd

ok if you are trying to make the whole rear end look like a vette, don't do it. There was a camaro that had this done in a apt complex i lived in and although the quality of the work was good, it just doesn't go with the rest of the car. The Vette is more curves and sexiness, the camaro is more angles and mean looking. the 2 don't mix.

I know what you mean about the two not mixxing but I think It would tie in well when I add the low-rise spoiler and If I can get the angles right on the sides I think it would blend in well with the rest of the car. I am going to be using the salad shooter rims on it too to give it a newer look but I was thinking of takeing the rims for either a powder coating or a cromeing I do not know which yet. Also I got the areo ground effects kit which will be going on right before paint. One last thing would be putting louvered cuts right behind the front tires I cant remember what they call those. I think it would look pretty good.

I just need to get my chasis mods done then start on the body. I'll sit down and draw it up when I get to that point and see what it looks like. I think it will work with my wide body kit. The body isn't as boxy looking any more and the vette look might fit it

The Iroc's rear end has (to me) the best look compared to
any other car within those years ...

I wouldnt do it ..

The shapes wont blend in perfectly ..

The money you spend on the conversion could be used to
mod the drivetrain and such ..

Good luck if you do

I was thinking of just black with ghost flames (flames kinda like yours) but I know I can not do this myself! Its not that I dont think I can but rather Time. I just dont have enough to do the stripping, sanding, primering..ect..ect. I wish I had the tools at least then I may have given it a shot. Oh well, I am still young yet right? (27) Thanks!

Looks like he was trying to figure out how much crap he could stuff on it before he ran out of room.

Here's the *** end of my camaro without the bumper or anything, it's shaped similar to the vette. Not sure if the body lines would look ok though with the vette rear.

And Camaro Pimp, that pic in your sig is in very poor taste. Please remove it.

See the lines on the striped bumber pic? Thats what I am going for! Just imagine those v shaped sides with a flat rear corvette end. I think it would look kinda futureistic! Well I think it will either be a car you will love or one that you will hate. Hopefully more on the love side! Well, I guess we'll see!

I like the look of that. Since camaros and firebirds have darn near the same lines I think it would look great in the end when I do the corvette rear. Great work with the photo shop! I know it does look alittle choppy but you can really see what it would look like finished. THX

ive always loved the ida of non visible bumpers (roll pans and such) i think bumpers look so out of place and that photochop of the red bird looks incredible.........would LOVe to do it. just not much room back there.

Why not make a mold and use urethane, like what the factory uses? You can buy it buy the gallon IIRC. It's a two part epoxy. That way it's still flexable enough to take the brunt of shopping malls without completely ruining the paint job.
