CAI w/functional TA hood scoops and cowl hood.

I was thinking of doing something like this for a while. It's not really "Ram Air" but I beleive it's a little better than the "bent-tube-to-the-fender well" CAI.
I used a pair of trans am hood scoops on the Harwood glass hood w/a;

It's hard to take a picture of what how the underside of the hood is constructed but there is an enclosed area where the loop for the hood latch mounts. One of it's sides is directly facing the filter(cone K&N on TB). this is the part I cut out. And the scoops are mouted over the enclosed area.
One thing I noticed is the car started to run 10* cooler. This is acording to the temp guage and in 85*+ NYC weather and stop and go traffic.
What do you people think?

Nice. You could also use a ram air filter box, would sit right under those scoops I would think. You know, the rectangular filter box? Anyway, nice job.

I can't really use a Ram Air box because the opening I've cut out is not facing down-wards. It's facing towards the throttle body.
I realize it's hard to see that from the picture. I'm gonna try to photo it from a different angle w/the "scoops" removed.
Thanks, BTW.

Looks Great and i think it would be better than the fender CAI. I've contemplated doing the same sorta thing instead of buying a ram air cuz it's unique.

The vents on mine are also before the radiator but there's space there, I guess do to the raised cowl hood.
Here are some more pics;

I'm not sure what the stock TA hood looks like underneath but perhaps running some "flat ducting" from the vents to the vacinity of the filter. Like reverse scoop, if you know what I mean? Again, I'm not sure if the various support ribs would alow it.
