what material for SFCs?

what size Steel and what type should i use to make some "Y" type subframe connectors? i think im good to go for making them, any tips would be awesome

Axle/Gears: Ford 9" 4:11's

I would use CRS(cold rolled steel)tubing at least 1.5" diameter by .1875 wall...like ede said.
