DFI panel done

Check out the panel I made for an LS1 Trans Am. It goes where the heater used to go and all the wires exit out the back. It can be removed and used to run the engine stand alone like on a dyno or used in another car.

QUESTION- how can I make the alternator work on this car? It has a 4 pole connector on it, what's the simplest way to wire it up to charge the battery?

Thanks

Chris, it's probably similar to the LT1 alternator, as it also has a 4 wire connector, but only 1 is used. might try that?

I looked in the service manual, it shows one wire just like you said, but the funny thing is that it goes to the ECM and it appears to get grounded by the ECM to enable it. I'm still researching it but so far it seems the 4 connections are for different types of configurations. I think one wire is used when an idiot light is used, anbother for the ECM and another when neither are used.

Sure aint like the old days!

i dont remember what pin it is, but one wire on there must get ignition to allow the battery to charge. if you hook up the wire to constant, it will drain the battery when the car isnt running

there's only one sure thing to do- look under the hood of a few LS! equipped cars and see how it's wired
