i have an 84 trans am that i have fully restored the exterior and much of the interior and put a new 700r4 tranny in it. i was thinking about selling the car or dumping more money into it. i have about 6500 to spend on it if i wanted to. would i beable to make it into the low 11's wit 6500 (engine swap, tires, suspension)? if so wat is the cheapest way to get my car into the low 11's?

 

Vortec truck motor from the JY, (under $500 in good shape), vortec intake ($200), decent 4 bbl carb ($50-500), headers + decent cat back, working stock suspension and whatever decent tires…

Does it have the aero package or not? Where are you at? I might be interested if you decide to sell it (been looking for an early, 82-84 TA, preferably a hard top)

i am located in new york its an 84 t/a 5.0 H.O the body is in mint shape

 

This is off-topic, but I'll add my 2 cents anyway.

If *I* had 6500, i'd buy a '91 C4, transfer my motor to it, and part out the rest of my thirdgen.
