Cingular offers a wireless internet card capable of wi-fi connection as well as connection to the cingular network. Doesn't require a cell phone. It is its own cell card and you have to pay a service. I think it is around $800.00 a year for unlimited service.

There is also a computer built specifically for the car. It is called DriveSoft. Don't think it does the voice operated interaction portion. But it will provide a harddrive / navagation / radar detection and probably a large amount of other options.

Wow, this thread still kicking!!

I changed few things since my knight rider fiasco. I opted for a new thing.
Its more of a pro/am car that I am kinda accesorizing ( ) and I plan on making it like knightrider, but he's gonna be called pro/am instead of kitt. Maybe a different name, but it aint gonna be kitt.
I found few links to a website that has a whole program with relays that come from your printer port and control things in the car.
Like windows, light etc!! All in commanded by voice.
I will be looking into that very soon, and once I find the link again I will post it up for you.

I kinda got delayed from my knightrider now Pro/am project since my ECM and my fuel pump took a doo doo!

You do realize that Pro/Am (I don’t know how they wrote it) was the monneker used by one of the tuners in the early 80’s, right?

I am going fully custom (and my work aint stellar, but I am getting better at it). What I want to do is have two radar detectors. One in the back one in the front. Than have them wired to a readout in the dash.
Than i want to do gauges that are either digital, or have firebird symbol that is lit up red on the gauges.

Get some kind of design set up and maybe go as far as fabricating a dash, or custumize my dash.

So if you guys have some shots of interiors that are cool, and can qualify as Knight rider--ish, please post them up. I wanna see
