Do you want pics of a street set up with a big 15 gallon one? I can show you that, or just go to my site. Mine is very slick install, more of a street machine than a race car.

I'm in the middle of this project. It mounts into the stock location under the car, instead of inside of it. It's designed for a 4th gen but with a small modification I did with the straps, it actually fits really well into a 3rd Gen, I just mounted it in the car today. Expect a full review in the Aftermarket review forum soon.

that setup is trick as hell...exactly what I've been looking for. How much does it hold, who makes it, and how much?

Looks like it doesn't hold that much, I am 99% sure the guy that posted the pic made it himslef, so there is no place you can buy it and therefor no price. Maybe he can make you one.

Nah, I wish I made it myself, ha. It's from Nasty Performance.

http://www.nastyperformance.com/FuelSystem.html

It holds the same as stock, but mine holds a little less because it's modded for a Ford 9" clearance. $529 for the tank, but it was worth it for me because I don't want to cut up the car too much.

Oh wow, my bad. I def had never seen anything like that before. I made my custom set up by using a jegs cell, that cost 150, or around there. But I had to cut a hole and seal it and so on. Turned out looking way better than I would have ever predicted. If you want an easy bolt in rout obviously go with the nasty preformance guys..

by the way how long has that set up been around for?? any idea?

Your set-up looks really good Dennis and it's what I was planning till I found out about these cells. Nasty performance makes them for the LS1 4th gen F-bodies but I am the first ever to try it in a 3rd gen, so I am writing a review and proceedures and such while i'm in the process.

I figured that the LS1 plastic fuel tanks fit in our cars, and if this one is made to fit in a 4th gen, it should fit 3rd gen too. And it does. I still need to cut my fuel line, mount it, mount the pump and filters, and figure out how i am going to do the fill neck, the third gen fill neck doesn't work and I'll probably have to buy a 4th gen neck.

I'll post all the info when the car is running.

Nice sounds like you got it all figured out. If I had known about those cells there is a good chance I would have gone with what you are doing. I am shaving everything off the outside of mine, so the gas door had to go on mine. I am gonna have to open my hatch to fill mine. No biggie. If anything it will be fun to eclain to people why I am filling my tunk with gas, hehe.

Keep us posted.

How long until you expect the tutorial to be finished up? Thanks for the info. I contemplated throwing a cell in the stock location and filling from the inside, but I didn't wanna deal with the smell or failing tech at the track

Dennis: I knew he didn't make it, no sense in writing an aftermarket review for a one off...

Guess so, Even if it was custom I would love to see how people make stuff. I guess I didn't pick up on the "aftermarket" clue.

Anyways, can't wait to see the cell in the car.

Here's a few pics of mine with a 15 gallon cell:

It has an extended sump with fuel lines that exit outside the car.

This one is during construction. Fuel cell and battery hasn't been installed yet, and firestop lid is hinged up:
