4 corner Hood Pins
Well, my baby was backed into so now I've had to re-fiberglass the hood. I originally had two locking hood pins on the front, and since the hinges were bent in the accident i decided to go with a 4 corner pinned lift off style hood. I'm having a little trouble with the rear as to where to put the bottom mecahnism on the car itself. I was wodnering if anyone has done this, and could maybe provide some pics? BTW its an ASCD Big Block Hood.
Thanks,
Brett

I still only use front hood pins on mine. Even with a fiberglass hood, it's too big and heavy to make it a one person lift off. The extra weight of the cowl doesn't help much either.

when I had mine i just threw a couple of pins in the cowl lip, on the driver's side i had to beat in the firewall about 1/4 inch, but it looked pretty good and was sturdy, I'd post pics but I'm deployed and don't have any with me.

If your gonna do a lift off, dzues fasteners are money well spent.Costs about $50 for all the hardware, but you get none of the flopping and rattling that pins give you.Sucks the hood down nice and solid.

yeah, i have four hood pins in mine, with just a lift off fiberglass hood. It does flop a lot above 80 or in heavy wind, but its not that bad. Although, at about 130 or so, it acts kinda like a wing, and makes the front end reaaally floaty.
I just got a couple of plates and mounted them near the fenders of the car... i get a pic for you in a while.
