Modded floor pan idea...

Since I have no back seats i was thinking about taking the part where the bottom seat goes (where it dips down) and making it rise up level with the tranny tunnel, maybe for some dual 40 series flowmasters. what do you guys think of this? opinions welcome.

a few years ago I saw someone on here do that. A search may recover it, not sure though. I do remember the dude cut the rear wells out and put mufflers there but it looked like a hack job to me, plus all you gain is running the mufflers straight into the rear axle. There is not room to go over the axle on both sides of the diff, so unless you want to put mufflers there and run dumps you are kinda wasting your time.

I did that on my car. The first time I did it I was in a hurry so I just beat them up enough to fit the mufflers in. Now, I'm cutting that whole section out and making a new piece to fit in there. Surprisingly not only do the mufflers fit perfect, if you still have the back seats in, you can't feel the bulge. I didn't run my exhaust all the way out either. The way the mufflers came out of the box is the way I left them. No turndowns or anything. And with that 377 stroker...It sounded great!

I have done this to my car,and it works great.I have turndowns, but I could run tailpipes no problem if I wanted to.I cut directly along the "framerail",and around to the tranny hump. Then I made a piece to fit,and a second piece to come back down and meet the original floorpan on top of the framerail. It makes a notch that fits a 40 series flomaster perfectly.I haven't drug a muffler since!

I've also pondered this, but i was thinking about cutting where the back seat is, and adding a compartment sort of, and maybe running a remote mount turbo up in there........and mounting an oil cooler/ intercooler also...that or just running true duals with bullets with plenty of ground clearance....

I'm working on the pics, but a 40 series flomaster fit mine like a glove!I'll try to get a rough measurement of them just for reference,as I know I'm one of the only people left on earth who is still stuck on flomasters
