On a 1988 trans am my hatch doesnt seem like it closes all the way there is a big gap on one side and the other side is close to touching the body of the car and when you hit a bump the door rattles it it cause its not allined or how would you go about fixxing it.

 

theres a tech article on how to fix this, im gunna tell you right now its worth doing! if your getting water in your trunk at all it will ilimnate this and looks better, but it does involve pulling the trunk panel off of the glass and putting new silicone back on there. i dont think it should be rattling though even iff it is off, id recomend checking the pull down motor too.
