Door panel template needed!!!

Hit a snag here. All the junk yards around here have no door panels for our 84 bird with electric locks and windows. Most have been riped open to get to window motors and left with the doors open or windows down and there rotted. I can make them but need a good template with the slot holes and the top holes in the correct places to make my new boards. I have a decent replacement set of upper trims with the interior sweeps. Covering them is no problem. My headache is that the ones that came on the car have been gluded to the top plastic trim with weather stripping 3m glue. There not coming off and all the plastic christmas tree holders are also glued in. Could anyone who has a clean panel make me a template on heavy paper that can be folded and mail. I would forever be in your debt and make it worth your time. Thanks

I can't help ya on making the pattern, but you may be able to make one yourself.

Just get some posterboard and a marker, maybe a second set of hands, and make your own template. That way you won't have to suffer because of someone elses incompetence.

If the glueed stuff is in the way, chop it off. I don't think you will be reusing an old, glued tree.
After sawing off the glued top piece, just add some extra on your template to compensate.

2 hours later...BAM! Instant template, and a warm fuzzy feeling, knowing you are forever grateful to yourself.

Yeah, I have an aluminum door template. I'd be happy to trace one out for you. Just email me your address and we'll talk. Check 'em out: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...inum-door.html
