can regular valve covers be modified to fit center bolt??

can regular valve covers be modified to fit center bolt??

basically i was going to get a new engine then ran out of cash but have a whole flame valve cover set and was wondering if there was any way to make it work for a center bolt style i know theres adapters but they are expensive as hell so its prolly not to simple but i'm out of cash so i'm looking for ideas.. any help would be good thanks adam...

anything is possible with enought time and money, but no i do not believe you can just drill holes in the covers and bolt them on.

there are adapters to go both ways; from centerbolt to outer perimeter bolt and the other way

if you read the first post, he already cancelled that option out, for the money spent on the adapters, you can verywell buy new valvecovers to fit what you need anyways, defeating the purpose of trying to save money by converting the ones he already has.

Back to the subject, you're probably going to have to either sell those to buy centerbolt ones, get some off a junkyard car, or try to trade the ones you have to someone that has centerbolt looking for perimeter

i see stock LT1 style valve covers pop up over on ebay pretty cheap. any gen 1 sbc 87+ will have them.

I have a set of centerbolt flamed valve covers I'd trade for perimeter bolt style. Also a set of stock centerbolt valve covers I would basically give away.
