Second Gen Firebird Spoiler

Hey, I was wondering if anyone ever tried making, or modifying a second gen firebird spoiler to fit a third gen firebird. The spoiler Im thinking of is the one in this picture, http://www.firebirdtransamparts.com/...everforget.jpg

a lot of work, but i think it would be well worth it, curious if it would fit at all with the body lines...

Re: Second Gen Firebird Spoiler

My original idea was a thirdgen camaro spoiler with the side pieces modified to go straight down instead of at an angle, that might prove to be easier.

Re: Second Gen Firebird Spoiler

poor cars in that pic , i accept donations of heavy pieces of metal that were once cars :-D hehe, newayz, yea 2nd gen firebird on a third might work out with the same principle in headlights, probably a lot of fabrication but non the less possible. I don't know if the lip angle would work as it should. I don't know, anyone good on photoshop possibly willing to play with this idea if noone has done it in real life?!

Re: Second Gen Firebird Spoiler

UD BE BETTER OFF BUYING A CAMARO 3" SPOILER FROM HAWKS, THAT WOULD REQUIRE MINIMUM MODIFICATION. AND IT LOOK THE SAME. AND U CAN EVEN PUT THE 2ND GEN GRAPHIC ON THE BACK, THAT WOULD LOOK SWEET.

I believe he's asking for a firebird, thats the issue is that hawks hasn't taken the initiative to make one for the firebird...either that or it just is hard to make it work with the body as i mentioned, anything is possible, i'd say someone should message hawks about it, but i don't think i'd pay $300 for it and i doubt they'd have any royalties going to the creater of the thought towards it.

Re: Second Gen Firebird Spoiler

the rear 1/4s are wider on a bird by like 1/2-1 full inch on top, the camaro is like an inch wide from body to tip, firebird starts off with an inch but widens to like an inch and a half by the time you get to the tail lights i believe, i may be wrong but thats what i've been told in the past. but either way it would be a starting point...just it might look wierd with that angle of spoiler going down the side with no lights there like they go beside on the camaros

Make one. Here's a custom 70's-ish style spoiler that was made for a 3rdgen camaro: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/auto...il#post2244542

Re: Second Gen Firebird Spoiler

Search Special Appearance Package, it was kind of like the low rise camaro spoiler option. Both offered in 88 by the dealer i beleive.

They basically took a camaro spoiler, and made it fit a bird. It might be too short for your liking, but itll give you an idea of the lines.

The package had side spats to go with it as well.
