heres an idea
ok well ive been thinkn bout this for a year now, and my idea was insprired by a fi camaro, but thinkn bout it i guess its close to the dual snockle?
but anywas my idea was to take the v6 fi induction system from my 88 and fab it so that is connects to the carb fliter, its an after market unaversal, so its just big and round.
so nay ideas on it? wouldnt it help with force induction at higher speeds?m basicly i guess what im asking is what would the pros and cons be of this, ill try to get some pics to help picture this idea of mine

Re: heres an idea
Been done MANY times. Sometimes with aftermarket filter housing, also been done with a Vortec-style cap. Thread Starter

Re: heres an idea
The V6 uses the same intake as a TPI, except for that it has a IAT fitting in it, whereas TPIs has the IAT under the plenum. But the V6 location is better anyways.

Re: heres an idea
Use some strips of metal to enclose the filter housing, ru the TPI duct to it, and use a TBI snorkle off it's air cleaner, to attach to the TPI piece, with a flex coupler.

Re: heres an idea
I hear ya. Just take the top of your triangle filer off, use a strip of sheet metal, aluminum, to wrap around the filter, put the top back on to hold it in place. At the front, form the strip to act as a hose connection, to go from the filter to the TPI piece. You could even run the TPI filters instead of your triangle filter. I'm not saying the TPI filters are better, just an option.

Re: heres an idea
I think Stephens original pic is a better idea. Just ditch your filter housing you have now(its kinda redundant anyway if your adding the dual snorkle filter housing), I know, it sucks since you spent money on it but you can probably sell it to a buddy, and go with something like that. The smaller the housing the better its going to force the air into the carb anyway. What ever you decide, good luck, and post pics when you're done.
