Best place to install hoodlocks...

Before I get flamed or whatnot with questions like, "This isn't the 70's man! The hood release is located INSIDE the car." or "The hood release is inside the car. Why not use pins instead.", It's because I like the idea, plus I have had a set laying around for years I planned to use on a 72 Torino GT that unfortunately bit the dust long before I even came the age of income.

But now onto my main question. What do you think the best place under the hood of an 85 Z28 would be to mount the posts and drill the holes for the locks in the hood? I was actually thinking of removing the rubber hoodstoppers and putting the posts in their place. The indentations in the hood where the stopper hit would make for the perfect drill marker/housing for the lock cylinders themselves. I'm not sure if removing the rubber stoppers would be ideal though. But the rest of the actual hood looks so crowded around that area I might have to do more chopping to make room than It'd be worth.

Remove the hood bumpers on the rad support and install the hood pins right there. You add bumpers back in by cutting and sliding some heavy rubber hose over the hood pin. You will have to cut away a bit of the underside of the rad support to access the nuts for the hood pins.
