Re: TO ALL KNOWING
For the cruise control, i believe my 84T/A had it mounted to a bracket on the drivers side frame rail just in front of the wheel well. In my 88 parts car, it was mounted right next to the washer fluid bottle on the drivers side fender.

Yeh if I remember right the cruise on a tpi engine was by the washer bottle you need a special bottle and bracket. I might have the bracket somewhere powdercoted gray but no washer bottle or cable. and I'm pretty sure the canister does have to be mounted upright as I've never seen a factory can mounted sidways in that style. But I could be wrong.

Re: TO ALL KNOWING
well no you don't need it for the engine to run but yes if you need to pass emisions you need it. It deals with the fuel vapors that evaporate from the fuel in the tank.

It needs to be upright. Liquid fuel collects in the bottom and the vapor is filtered through the charcoal.

Re: TO ALL KNOWING
may i ask why you want to move the battery to the other side of the car? i'd just put it in the cockpit behind the passenger's seat or next to the firewall on the passenger side.

Re: TO ALL KNOWING
Just thought I would mention if you check out the technical articals section. there are a couple of cold air intake know hows that people just unbolt the canister and push it as far as posible to a corner and still have room for a cold air intake.
