Started a new and an old project.

So I have looked for a "ram air box" lol for months now that suits my need..
Needless to say nothing even remotely warrants buying to try to modify to work.

Soo... I have decided to learn how to fiberglass! With the help of 86TA's last post, this fine site http://microship.com/resources/cardb...omposites.html and some cardboard from my work (Which is plentiful.. I am going to have fun with this I think lol.) I have started my base model..

My plan is to have a 4" hose from the front of it, into the TPI-type ducting up front, then I plan to have another 3-4" hose going at a 45* angle from the top of the cleaner with a cone filter at the end pushed up against the SS hood inlet.

My original idea was to buy either a box that had 2 dual inlets at the right angle, and just turn one to face the front of the car and the other inlet to have a hose that would bend towards the SS hood inlet. But I just could not find one for under $9000 or at the right angle. (The H.O. cleaner has a really bad angle, if you turn one to face the front of the car the other would be facing towards the heater )

Ive got the box looking a bit better, it has a lot less tape and is very sturdy already, especially after hot gluing all the big seams (and my fingers!). Just wish I could start fiberglassing already, won't get any material until thursday.

I am leaving the rear open because I would still like to benefit from the Cowl (the next set of pics..)

With that, heres the old project idea.
I really dislike the SS hood back end, it curves AWAY from the window when it could have just as easily been made into a cowl. So that is the plan, to add a cowl to the back of the SS hood. (Can someone tell I like to air out my engine? )

Just starter pics..

Anyway, hope you like what I have done so far and if I could get any tips that would be greatly appreciated. Will keep pictures going as soon as I get batteries....

cool! more pics when you get more done. one thing to check, make sure you dont add so much to the cowl it hits the windsheild when you open the hood
