Newbie here
Hey Guys:
I am in the beginning stages of building a 1986 Z28 drag car. I have a LS1 that is being put together as we speak. I was wondering is there anyone else that has put a LS1 in a 3rd gen for strictly drag racing? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There's a sticky in the engine swap forum about putting an LS1 into a third gen.
To make a drag car, how far do you want to go?

The car that we are building is a 86 Z28 (all stock at this point) most of the unnecessary items have been removed. I got a LS1 mainly because I have a good friend that can do wonders with them on a modest budget. He's going to be great with the motor, but as far as fab work; I'm pretty much on my own. So anyone that has some ideas on what works and doesn't work will be greatly apperciated.
We live in TN and most of the tracks around here are 1/8 mile and I would like to have it in the 7 second range. The engine will be in the 500 hp range and we also plan on spraying it with a 150 shot.
Thanks in advance for any insite and once again: Great site!
