mini tubb question

greezemonkey has inspired me to mini tubb my 90 camaro. I already run 28 10.5 on 15x10 5.5bs. My car is a race car with southside ladder bar setup that works amazing(1.38 sixty) I want as much slick as possible under the rear without having to backhalf and change the cage, fuel cell, etc. Mini tubb looks like the answer. My question is what is the widest tire you can fit "under" the car(will a "W" fit?)

Re: mini tubb question

Does your car hook now? if so then you don't need a bigger tire to slow you down. IF the car spins because you're running 8s, then you might need a larger tire.

Re: mini tubb question

It hooks most all the time. I use this car for bracket racing and have been to tracks that are marginal and my 60' would vary due to slight spin. I need my 60' to be consistant or nothing else will be consistant. That is why I would like to go to a bigger tire without a back half. I also would like to lower the car in the rear. BTW, I love your car. I have a 92 25th car that I drive on the street and it is actually the car I won the silverdollar 2007 Pro Et track championship with. I will try to post pics of the cars

Re: mini tubb question

Never Mind. I decided to just beat the inner wheel well and put 29.5 10.5, not w's. I dont see enough tread difference to warrant a mini tub, new wheels and coilovers when the car works the way it is. Thanks for the info

Re: mini tubb question

Thanks xpndbl3. I will try to upload some more pictures of it in street form with welds and 28 11.5 et streets. All rear stuff is sphon rod end (panhard, lower ca, lca, torque arm, race sway bar) It is kinda noisey on the street.
