Rear window louvers
How many of you guys have them? Are they worth the money to keep my camaro cooler in the summer, and do most people think they look cool?

Re: Rear window louvers
I think they are coming back into style as people embrace the 80's heritage of these cars. I happen to like them, and I would get a set if I could find some nice ones for a good price
there's a whole thread with pics, you will find it interesting

Re: Rear window louvers
I can't even use my camaro yet until it's either put back together or fully restored, whichever comes first as my firebird keeps hogging all my attention, but as soon as i saw a set of louvers for $75 semi-locally, i jumped on them like a puma lol. I love em, and the heritage that they carried in the '70s, and so much so in the '80s that it was a "factory option." Probably dealer installed but still available through your parts counters in the '80s.

Re: Rear window louvers
Whether they look cool is all personal opinion, personally I love them, on camaro's anyway
You'd be amazed at how much cooler they keep the interior of your car when it's out in the sun. Huge difference

yes this link is incorrect
i missed out on a set of aftermarket three piece type louvers
the guy said he would sell them to me for less than advertised
and I said I will buy them as soon as I get back from a business trip
and he said okay no problem and when I called him five days later
he said he sold them -then I realized this is a good thing cause the
aftermarket louvers are not as nice as OE louvers
and yes they were installed on the factory line
I would by some if I could find them

Re: Rear window louvers
Is this what you are talking about, this place is pricey, but I was just wondering if these were the style you were looking for?

Re: Rear window louvers
Those are the ugly (IMO) 3 piece set. The two sides sit perfectly flat on the window and kills the history and lines of louvers. There were 3 piece sets that were nearly identical and clean to the OE 1 piece style. Thats the set I got just because of how cheap they were for me at the time.

Re: Rear window louvers
I love louvers, I want a set for my firebird pretty bad, between a friend of mine and myself we owned a set of Black Magic II louvers made by Cragar but did not have the mounting hardware unfortunately. They were great looking louvers, but we could never mount them! lol
