Third Gen GT1 Fabrication
Hello Everyone, I'm looking for info and Specs on SCCA GT1 cars, Specifically a Third Gen Camaro or Firebird.
I've been told is Useless to build one this days But I love this Body Style and can't even hold the thought of building something else.
I tried to get info for example on Jack Baldwin's 1992 Hot Wheels Camaro, but info is hard to find.
Any Help will be Greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!

Re: Third Gen GT1 Fabrication
I've seen one for sale on Racejunk a while ago.
Aren't they full tubular chassis?
I believe there is a member on this forum who's in the process of building a reproduction of one of these as well. I've seen a thread on a reproduction of the GT1 style hood, but can't remember the username or find the thread. It's most likely found in the fabrication, body or appearance subforum.
EDIT:: my misstake, the username is procamaro85, and he's building an IROC racecar, not a GT1. The thread is located in the "body" subforum. A poll on fiberglass hoods.
EDIT:: http://www.racingjunk.com/category/8...Sump-350-.html

Re: Third Gen GT1 Fabrication
Thanks, I'm sure it will help me too. I will look into it.
And yes they are full tube chassis, that is why I would like to know some specs like the tube diameter, thickness, etc.
But I apreciate any help!!
I was forgetting, can anyone recomend me some components, like what rear axle should I get or what kind of transmission would be good. Or what brakes are better. I like those "wide 5" hubs and wheels, but I don't know if they have any real benefit. I'm new in this but I really want to learn and Fabricate this Car.
