CAI market
alright well a buddy of mine makes alot of things for 4th gens and has been lookin at my car and getting ideas on things he can sell. weve been talkin about either bigger air lids (for TPI) or a different style CAI. i showed him pics of one i had made on my old 87 iroc and he loves it but wants to see if we can make one to fit under the factory hood and if there would be any interest in people purchasing them.
heres what i had on my old iroc. its dual cone filters goin up to the maf housing. if hes makes them he said theyll be made in plastic and there will most likely be a short and longer version.
these are the only pics i have of it.

what do you guys think? something you might be interested in purchasing?

Re: CAI market
with that one the hood needed to be modified but with the new one were goin to design it should work with a stock hood.

Re: CAI market
By the time you squish the y-connection down enough for the hood to close, I don't think it will flow better enough to justify the cost of it when people can just remove the baffles from the factory setup for free & make those 2 square-ish ducts already shown on TGO.

That is what most people usually do first, but then the next restriction is the lid itself. Mainly the 3 inch opening that cuts down to about 2 1/2- 2 3/4 opening.
If you check out the thread by 1bad91z he modified his own lid and then made a few for others. All the responses I read were positive gains. Here is the thread.

Well your right and wrong. 1badz did make ram air boxes like the ones Hawks sells but we are referring to the air lid itself. He modified that for more flow.
