I still would like to go with V10
I just found used Viper input shaft for $150, bell housing I already have
.

Does anybody know what's the difference between Camaro/Firebird T56 and Viper T56 adapter plate? That's plate marked red on picture below.
I want to know if I buy Viper input shaft, do I need also Viper adapter plate or I can use Camaro/Firebird plate, eventually with some modifications?

Also, is it OK to put LT1 T56 behind V10 without any modifications (because a lot of torque), I don't use my car for drag races or something like that, just like weekend car

The viper t56 has a longer output shaft. You will need to change it. The lt1 t56 will handle the stock gen1 viper motor if you don't have crazy tires and beat on it. You could get a custom input shaft made longer. Then make a spacer that has your lt1 bolt pattern an viper bolt pattern.

First, how short is the shat thats in the transmission ?
How long is the one for a viper transmission ?
Will the T56 you have bolt up to the vipers bellhousing ?

Input shaft is shorter at least 2-2.5"
Yes, my T56 is bolt on Vipers bellhousing

get the viper input shaft, have it swapped in, and drop the trans in with a cross member mounted tq arm and call it a day.
leave the complicated thoughts to figuring out how to cram a v10 under the hood.

But what about adapter plate? Adapter plate is not the same as Vipers. I doubt that Camaros clutch slave cylinder will be long enough to move the Vipers clutch

Shone, Private msg 85MikeTPI and get his attention. He's a crackhead with t56 questions from what i remember. Or you could ask a side post in the trans forum about your problem.

The viper input shaft has different gear tooth mesh than any other T56. You need to make sure you get the ultra-rare viper countershaft to mate with your viper input shaft or you'll have issues.Originally Posted by shone190

The '93 LT1 T56 you have should just get resold immediately. The viper only came in the MM6 gear set and the M28/M29 gears in the '93 will need 80% of the internals replaced to work with the viper input/counter. (The '93 is only rated for 350-400 lbft of TQ, while the vipter T56 is rated for 550)
The viper front plate has the slave bolts clocked differently for the viper slave cylinder. You'll need to change over to the viper front plate in order to use the longer viper slave to get you the reach you'll need. (Or go to an aftermarket hyd slave like McLeod that you can space out from the plate)
All said, dump all the T56 stuff you've gotten so far and look for a real viper T56. You'll be ahead in the long run.
mike
Thanks a lot 85MikeTPI
I figure it out a few days ago, so it's better option for me to buy complete Viper T56.
For now, I'll put this LT1 and T56 in GTA, so when I collect enough money for Viper T56, then I'll put V10
Wheels are some brand name King from Germany and originally came on BMW.

The LT-1 Camaro looked like it was in good shape... Why did you not just fix that car?
Because I don't like 4th gen that much
, and this is USA car and I can't register it in my country, there is no legal way to import and register foreign car which is 20 years old

Can you post it? I could measure some spare brackets I have but if you have the datums that would be awesome, need to fab a custom rbacket for Z06 rear calipers on my 9 bolt
