Foglights Idea
So the previous owner of my car wrecked it 2 or 3 times. The sub frames all bent up and uneven.I bought foglights for it like last year, and no matter WHAT i did i couldnt get them to line up evenly. The passenger side was too low,and the drivers side was too high. Each side only showed about 35% of the fog light.I told my dad i was considering mocking up some brackets to make them evened out. But since so much crap has been done to the car already, dad said id be better off just leaving out the foglights for now and putting in some like...spray painted mesh or perforated metal. Just for now. Also becuase the foglights need new bulbs, which are 22 dollars a piece.Anyone else ever think of something like this, any pics? Thanks guys.Just trying to think of different things.

I'd put $ into getting the chassis straightened out before I bothered with adding lights.

Re: Foglights Idea
But you need the chassis straight for it to drive correctly & safely as well as to not run your tires down quick. Don't need those wearing out & needing replacing & having to spend $ on tires, which will only wear out fast too & need replacing.
Start with getting the car all straightened out & running good, before you start throwing $ at upgrades. With it running good, you can get a job & afford the upgrades you want.
Stop by a body shop & ask about getting the chassis checked out for straightness & an estimate on getting it fixed, so that you know. It might be cheaper to do than you think.

Re: Foglights Idea
hit the gym then straighten it yourself.. jk, but i would def just put a mesh or something in there and save the $ for bigger problems. It wouldn't look bad. or u could probably find the grill without fog light holes for fairly cheap and i think those look better anyway

Re: Foglights Idea
The subframe is bent so that the lights don't bolt on correctly but the bumper cover is alright? New brackets could work but what about just a new bumper bar? (what the foglights mount to)

Re: Foglights Idea
Just for info, the foglights for trans ams are near identical to the 'blazer' (and other brand name) fog light kits sold by WalMart, etc. The lense, reflector, retainer, bulb are all direct swap ins into the stock housing. For about $20 you can get new bulbs AND lenses for your TA fogs.
I haven't looked at the late TA front ends to see if they have a different fog, so no guarantees there.
