Engine: LR4 4.8
Transmission: 98-02 t56 6 speed
Axle/Gears: Bw 9 bolt (3.70’s) pbr rotors
Floor starting to rust
Ok so I notice when I was under the car that rust building up under my feet I can push up on the floor pan an can see the sheet metal move up an down is it possible to cut one section of the floor out an get a new piece of the same shape an weld it into the existing floor then touch it up with rust prevention paint

Yes, it is very possible and that is how most of us have done it. rather than buying an entire floor pan, I just patched mine with some spare sheetmetal I had lying around. A new replacement floorpan, would be the best option if you were looking to restore, but some sheetmetal patches or a piece cut of a donor car will work just as good.

See thats the thing a entire floor pan cost 300 bucks crazy for sheet metal if u tell me but I have asheet metal shop right down the street of me that could cut out a piece the exact same shape, the rest of the drivers floor is solid It's just that one area right under my feet

Cut it out weld some steel in place and coat with rust bullet or POR15

No jig would have to be made or anything like that it's a hardtop Gta so don't have to worry about to much flex

Now this is what I like to hear glad that it ain't that gonna be a hard job looks like I gotta start learning how to weld lol should I use a mig welder to do it or does if have to be arc, or spot welded
