all of the aluminum sheet metal came from an old road construction sign i relocated the climate controls to the side of the console and made a cover for it all the vacume lines wires and cable just reached

thanks i wanted the hu as far up as possible in the console so i had to move them and the extra room made it possible to put in an extra cooling fan for the stereo that thing gets pretty hot

That's pretty cool, moving it off to the side. I hate reaching for the sliders while I'm driving. I actually was thinking of doing the same thing with the panels in my car, since most are broken anyway. All brushed aluminum or polished steel or something. I couldn't find anyone who had done it anywhere, so thanks for the pic

Your welcome the sheet metal was 1/16 thick and I used a hack saw blade some files and a drill just make your stencil a tad bigger so you could use the files to get the plates to fit perfect because that shift plate was a little tricky I had to make it twice
