Smoothing engine bay, what color do you think looks best (Please post pics!)

I am going to pull my entire car appart (again). I want to try again at smoothing the firewall and inner fenders. I currently have the engine bay painted with POR-15 that I brushed on (egh...). Now that I am have the car at my own house, not my moms anymore, I want to learn how to make a much more profestional look. I will be welding/griding all holes smooth. I then wasnt to get down to metal and buy a gun to spray the engine bay.

What do you guys suggest for a color? The car is now a custom off white, but will later be stock arctic white. White engine bay, or black?

If I go white, is there anything tougher than just regular paint? POR-15 does not come in white.

Anyways, just looking for ideas and suggested products. Maybe any tips or things to avoid when smoothing everything.

Go with black, Black is what is considered a neutral color, meaning it will match any color perfectly. so if you end up repainting the body it will always look good. besides, a black engine bay makes your eye draw to the engine more, it just looks really nice.

Keep it black, I would get an epoxy paint that you have to mix. White engine bays are difficult to keep clean and are best left for show cars. Scratches are less apparent and easier to fix with a satin black. Whether or not you use a paint with a separate clear coat is up to you, I am on the fence about it.
