Front Sub Frames
Hey Everyone, My front sub frames are done. cracked rotten....the pieces under the floor pans, toward the engine seem to be ok. So the question is do I harvest or fabricate. I already have a donor to harvest. I plan to build a set of subframe connectors anyway so if I fabricate how should I build them? Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Re: Front Sub Frames
Nothing is impossible but the front sub frame is part of the whole body. There's no easy way to just swap it out with another one.

I know it's not the same part, but I would say it's a good read before you take on such an involved project. Be sure you know what you've got before you get started and what you're getting back if you have a shop do the work.

Re: Front Sub Frames
Thanks for the input.... I do understand that this is not a quick fender patch, and not for the faint of heart, and will require much planning and lots of inspection....and I know when to draw the line, I turfed my last car because the rear frame rails, floors and firewall were done. So I know when to stop All that said the options available 1- professional quote 2- harvesting a donor and replacement 3- fabricating an replacement I was looking for some way to fabricate a solution and interested in some ideas and paths to consider. Thanks

Re: Front Sub Frames
Everything can be repaired. The question to ask though is it worth it? Spending $5000 to fix a vehicle that's only going to be worth $2000 isn't a good option.
