83 z28 egr

Is there any benifit of having the egr valve? AND how can I delete it from my car it's on an 83 z28? Can I delete the emissions system all together and how will it effect my performance?

Yes, passing emissions, saving the environment. Remove it, block off exhaust port, retune to remove check engine light. Yes, it is however, against the law, negligible affect on performance.
