Spool for 9 bolt
Spool for 9 bolt
Hello all,
I'm currently searching for a full spool or a mini spool for my rear end. I currently have a borg warner 9 bolt with a 7,75" carrier, 28 spline axles and a 3.45 ring gear ratio. Everything I find either have 26 spline or is for the 7,5" 10 bolt rear end. I looked at the www.9bolt.com and they seem to have one but I can't find any details on it.
I could also use a complete open carrier with spider gears and weld it up but once again, no luck there. I searched at summit, yukon, jegs and 9 bolt.com. Facebook marketplace come empty handed as well.
Hawks motorsport have complete powdercoated assemblies but the shipping makes it too expensive.
As my name suggests, I will be drifting with this spool or mini spool, so of course I need something strong. Yes it is still being street driven but only to go and from the track so the little squeals and hops don't scare me.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Spool for 9 bolt
Some rwd toyota and nissan cars from the 80s and 90s might use a similar differential as the 9 bolt that came in our cars.
I remember reading an article where someone retrofitted a locker from a supra or similar into a third gen. Worth looking into
You best option is probably 9bolt.com but I am not sure if they are still in business. email them
I would also check Facebook marketplace third gen groups for guys that part out cars.
