Transmissions and Drivetrain Need help with your trans? Problems with your axle?

9 bolt 10 bolt axles????????

From: previously OKINAWA JAPAN,georgia, now new england
Car: 1989 IROC--1989 T/A
Engine: 5.7 TPI in both
Transmission: W/C T-5 in both
Axle/Gears: B/W 3.27 in both
9 bolt 10 bolt axles????????

are the 28 spline axles from the 9 bolt the same as the 10 bolt 28 spline axles?? if so i will keep my old 9 bolt axles for a future upgrade of my 26 splines right now, if not i will throw the whole 9 bolt rear end away... thnx in advance

Engine: 305 ci tbi, 305 ci tpi, 350 ci tpi
Transmission: WC-T5, WC-T5, 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.45, 3.27, 3.27
Nothing is common between the 2 rear ends, except the gear oil & posi additive. The 10-bolt axles are retained in the housing by "C" clips. The 9-bolt axles are retained by 4 bolts. Completely different axles.
