305/T5 Pilot Bushing Recommendations

Hello all,

I have a 86 Iroc Z with a 305.

Swapping the 700R to a T-5 WC out of a 92

I cannot get a correct bushing or bearing!!

Had a few fit an extra output shaft outside of the bore but when they go in, they don’t. Thought that was normal so bought 19/32 reamer to just make it bigger a bit, too much wobble!

I need recommendations or part numbers. Can’t waste anymore money on this headache

Good info about bushings in here. GM used the same bushing for 3,4,5,6spds from the 60's to mid 2000's. Same pilot pocket on SBCs, LT1 and LSx

If it's not in there, then you may be looking at a custom piece. You need the crank pilot ID, input tip OD and height. Any machine shop with a lathe can turn one out for you. Being custom, I'd recommend getting spares to prevent a repeat of this adventure when it's time for a new clutch

I started using the standard SBC bronze oilite bushings after having a pilot roller bearing come apart. I think Pioneer still makes bronze pilot bushings: just make sure it is a bronze bushing and not a cheap powdered metal one like what comes in clutch kits.
