Current stage of the project is shop setup. 40' of pallet racking setup but needs to be bolted down. The plan is to put lights under each bay and make workspaces for lathe mill etc. Searching for a hammer drill to install the bolts in the racks and to install the two post.

With only 40' of rack space, I'd consider just renting a hammer drill. You won't need much, as gravity will handle most of the stabilizing of those racks. I just bolted ours to the framework of our steel shop building in a couple of places. The things are amazingly sturdy and stable. Could have left them free-standing, but did secure in a couple of spots, just in case....
Spent some hours in the shop today, got the two post and car situated where i might like it. I ordered a ryobi 18v hammer drill that matches the rest of my tools.
I haven't yet taken a picture of it yet, but I have from UMI Performance an unfinished tack welded race K member. This will be the foundation of the build, modified to suit the trailblazer front diff and oil pan.
Not much to update on the shop or the car, the hammer drill arrived and I put a a piece of box tube across the top of the lift posts. I was surprised to see that there was more than an inch of discrepancy between them. I ordered a string level to verify the measurements and it arrived this evening. I have been extremely busy helping my landlord get the rest of his building ready for winter boat storage, trying to work off the debt of the pallet racks i acquired from him. I also acquired a new project in the form of a narrow aisle reach truck that I'm hoping to lease to my landlord for a rent reduction. I won't it for a long on Ritchie bros auctions.
The plan is with the lift to verify the level measurements with the string level in case my box tube was bent and the shuffle it around in twelve inch increments to see if the shim requirements become slightly more realistic.
Confirmed the level difference to be 1" with the string line. Haven't had a chance to move the posts to another location to see if there is a more level location. I'm on the hunt for some 1" plate to make a solid shim....and of course my plasma cutter **** the bed, right on time
Attended a design and manufacturing trade show and met with some companies that have the ability to help me bring my tailshaft and tailhousing products to fruition. I met some very interesting folks and can't wait to get the ball rolling on this.
This morning I managed to measure the floor 12 inches in front of the current two post position and it seemed more realistic at around 1/4 or 3/8" hopefully soon I can get this thing bolted down and get the car in the air!
Not much to update on the car or the shop. I've been busy restoring an extra set of HD truck wheels, such that I may get these 12 year old tires off my truck and begin hauling weight from old building 3hrs north to new location.
It was a month of Sundays but finally stripped polished and recleared. Definitely not perfect but I'm happy with them for now. Got super lucky and found a low mile set of center caps from California...never seen salt. Might have to take them off for the winters around here. They only made these centers for four years so they're as rare as hens teeth. As opposed to the previous design they made for 30 or so years. Finished product.
So now I'm down to my old building attempting to arrange things for loading on the trailer and begin making trips. The First order of business was to be my lathe, mill, hvac equipment to install in the new space, and whatever else might fit if anything. I just so happened to find a much better lathe and mill for sale, so I'm scrambling to sell what I have now, and will revise this loading accordingly. Forklift ran out of propane and is overheating but I made tons of progress. A couple of untagged cars got left outside over the weekend because I couldn't find anyone to refill the tanks. Hopefully the city doesn't happen to see them...motorcycle is for sale, lathe and mill as well. PM for details.
