I would like to transplant the drivetrain from my GTA to something that does not need so much body work, or interior work. Here are the requirements:

-1985-1992 only
-camaro, IROC, RS, firebird, trans am, formula, GTA are good
-Prefer it has GFX unless it is a formula
-MUST have decent body that needs nothing in regards to paint or body repair. Please no "10 footers" or "50 footers"
-MUST have decent interior in regards to dash, console, door panels.
-Need not have good carpet or seats
-V6, V8 don't care preferrably not running
-auto or 5sp, don't care. Can have bad tranny.
-Unmolested body harness. Can live with molested ECM harness.
-Almost any color but teal.
-Can have a bad rearend. drum, disk, posi do not care.
-would prefer T-tops
-NEEDS TO WITHIN 200 MILES OF ZIP 56001. MANKATO, MN. I travel for work to Milwaukee and Lincoln, NE sometimes, so if you are in either of those towns I am in luck.

The cheaper the better. Willing to trade my GTA without engine, tranny, or ECM harness.
I have had the GTA forever, since Oct of 1996. You would think that in 10 years time I would have gotton around to the body on the thing. Rust free, but the paint is wearing so thin it is starting to get a real light surface rust. Needs 3 dents pulled out on the pass side. Needs to have the nose pushed back up in the center. (My Mom backed in to it years ago in the driveway and pushed the nose down, and dented the front of the hood, easily fixed)

You want a car with a very nice paint job for cheap. Do you know how much a nice paint job cost? I would think a solid car that only needs paint and no rust would be better to come by cheap.

 

Yes I am aware how much a good paint job costs. I am hoping to find one with decent factory paint, not show quality repaint. There can be blemishes in the paint. I am not expecting perfection from a 14-21 year old car. I just want something without faded paint, dents etc. Maybe I am being a little too picky, but sometime people say "yeah, the paint is great" and when you get there you see rust holes in the bottom of the doors, or a fender is a completely different color.

85 camaro florida car bought new by a auto mechanic.
drives great - newer paint few dings etc. front pass side fender alittle bend on bottom and paint peal on front bumper corner. ice cold a/c.
I was gonna put my 350 in it but have too many projects and like my 2nd gen better.The 2.8 crossfire in it runs decent right now but seems to have piston slap. This car has been very well maintained has 138,000 miles. underneth of car is clean paint, NO rust at all never in accident nice staight body. interior is good for a 20 yr old car driver sear seperating on side allittle and top of rear seat. small cracks between vents and windsheild on dash. carpet and rest real nice engine and compartment is clean. would make a nice car. car is in florida but I'm going to michigan in a few weeks and could get a trailer and transport it. my email : xrmperformance AT gmail.com Location: florida Mileage: 138,000

BOTTOM of car is CLEAN paint no RUST or RUSTPROOFING
