[AZ] WTB 5.0 manual Trans Am/Formula
Hey all,
I'm going to post this and see if we can't find my dream ride.
I'm really wanting a 5.0 5spd. As I've posted elsewhere, practically out of all the cars I've ever driven (and the list is distinguished) the most fun I had was in my buddy's 1LE Camaro. I don't need, or even want a super rare 1LE type Trans Am. Just a 5.0 with a 5spd. My plan is a daily driver when the weather is great (which most months it is here) and enjoy autocross racing events and a couple track days too.
Right now, I have a 1997 GMC 3500 454 4x4 I'm going to be putting up for sale. The truck has less than 60,000 miles on the clock and it's solid. It's a work truck, and not pretty, but it's solid. I'm going to take the money from that and get me my Firebird.
I've already found one that is interesting, and if this one in particular is for sale still when I go back to SoCal for Christmas, and the guy seems good, I'll check it out:

I'd prefer T-tops as well, guilty pleasure of mine. But if the car is good, it's not a requirement.
I'm no body guy, and I'm a good mechanic. But I'd like one squared away rather nice so I can start enjoying her ASAP. I've also got family in the Chicago area, so if any of you find one out there, please let me know too. It's worth the roadtrip and vacation to visit family to pick up a nice Trans Am. It'd be a great roadtrip home!
**edit**
sorry, I would also like it to be pre-1991. Sorry, I'm not running on all cylinders as it were this morning lol
it's okay if it's carb, TBI, or TPI, as realistically if it's not a TPI, it's all just going to come off. Arizona, in my county, doesn't check SMOG B)

budget is anywhere from $1000 for a rough but together, all the way up to $15,000 for a solid garage queen with driven miles. Sorry, I forgot to add that. My truck is worth KBB around 7K realistically, everything beyond that, would be extra from savings. I'd like to stay below $5,000 though. I'd like a car I can work on, rather than something prestine. I have the next few months to work on her in the barn before the weather turns really nice again.
I actually found a couple on here, but they're just too far away. I'd also like to go through here or something like that too. I feel a relationship is always good, and it's nice to know when the vehicle is going to a good home.
