How about polished 52mm TBs? Like the one Summit has, or the Holley version (which is WAY overpriced)

I need 30 lb fuel injectors too, let's get Venom to Gp those!

Maybe custom chip programming (PCMforless)?

Spohn 1LE brake package? March pullies? BECOOL aluminum radiators?
How about another GP from FAST TOYS they sell a ton of stuff for our cars. I put everything I want from them in my "shopping cart" on there site and it comes out over $3000.
How about something that everyone needs like the in tank fuel pump they have for our cars, or headers, or spohn stuff, or STB's etc etc

Pinky, did you add in the info for TGO GP's price? I don't think you did as you have #720?

And you don't need to hit the Subit Reply button a million times, just once

18 have said they submitted their orders but only 16 have been received by FastToys. Weird.

We'll see what the final count is later on today. I'll post up FastToy's official tally when they contact me later and let me know.

Anyways, 16,18, whatever. Looks like we're in anyways.
I just about soiled myself when I read that post because I never did receive a confirmation email. So it's Friday night, still no confirmation. I emailed the website and asked them if they had rec'd my order. Waited. Waited. Tried to get a new password because the site didn't know my e-mail addy or password. Waited. At this point I am beginning to curse certain entities and their mothers. After 30 mins or so I got an email from FT saying they did get my order and sent me a copy of the email I never got. WHEW!! I don't think I've been so disappointed about possibly not getting the parts since I got my car and found the guy on ebay sold me something comparable to a rolling oil slick.

Man I'm glad I got that straight!

I just found this thread and this is a good deal. I just e-mailed the company to see if they will let me in on the purchase. Hopefully they are waiting to place the order on Monday. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hopefully, for your sake, they let you in. The deadline was Friday but who knows. This is one hell of a deal and I'd hate for anyone to miss out.

It's too bad you didn't see this thread earlier. I'd bet my left nut, if the mods had made this thread a "sticky" so that everyone who visited the sight were made aware of this G.P. we'd probably have 3-4X as many orders placed. No question.

I don't know whether or not you'll be able to get in on this G.P. unfortunately, as AS&M/FastToy's made it very clear that the 15th was the deadline.

Normally, deadlines are rock solid with no exceptions. However, my credit card still hansn't been charged yet, so that means FastToys will probably start putting the orders through first thing Monday morning.

They can't submit our orders to AS&M without first charging our cards to make sure we actually have the money to pay for them. They'll only submit the orders that were successfully charged to the customers credit card.

If they see your email by then, you might have a chance.

Best of luck

I usually don't wander this far down the main page. I usually stop at the south central regional board. I guess I'll monitor this forum more often.

I ordered a set also, confirmed today. Thanks for putting the Group purchase together.

Right now I have an LB9 305, do you think the large tube runners will hurt bottom end torque on the little 305?

Thanks

Congradulations to those who were able to place their order's after the deadline had passed. Just goes to show you how friendly the guy's over at FastToy's are. A lot of companies wouldn't accept any orders past the deadline.

Heck, some companies wouldn't even consider a group purchase to begin with (TPIS comes to mind....What a bunch of Losers! )

My credit card hasn't been billed yet. I'm sure everything is all right though. i'm not worried.

21 orders guys!!!

This thread is a text-book case on how to do a group purchase. Hope we can get together again for another one.

It would be kind of cool if we started our own little club and all got together every month or so and made a list of parts we wanted. Vote for which one we'd want first, and start a group purchase on it. That'd be cool.

Hopefully, we can work with FastToys again....

I don't think they will. Granted the chart below is for a 383 /w heads, big mouth, 58tb, descreened maf. But the general idea is to show how the large tube runners don't seem to sacifice ANYTHING on the bottom end.

The "OFFICIAL" word from FastToy's is..... (drum roll please )......

21 orders!

Just got an email from them now. They said they'd be updating the site later on tonight so when you log in to check your account, it should be updated to say it's been finally processed.

All 21 orders have been sent to AS&M and will be built over the next 3-4 weeks. When they're finally shipped out, you'll receive a further email from FastToy's notifying you of this.

So there you have it gentlemen.

The AS&M runner Group Purchase has finally come to an end and was an awesome success.

I just wanted to thank all of those who participated in this G.P. to make it happen. If it weren't for you guys, none of this would have taken place. When you've finally received your orders, be sure to email FastToy's and thank them aswell. They really came through for us and have been one of the best companies I've ever worked with.

They were very helpful and informative during my email discussions with them and were total professionals.

I hope to work with them again on future G.P.'s

Congradulations guys! We did it.

Confirmed at $363 with shipping. This kicks miles of *** (okay, butt). I also wish to thank everyone involved. FastToys is definitely on my short list for parts. Good folks.

Id GP w/ you guys again no problem. I think its a good idea since I need stuff.

TPiS is for not going for the base GP.

Fast Toys is the s*&t, order total was $362.49. How can you beat AS&M runners for that price. Fast Toys made some coin off this GP. We need to work w/ them again. They just made my top 3.

Great job everyone involved. We did a great job going from talking about it, to contacting and who would of thought we'd double the orders needed.

Fast Toys is running off to the bank w/ this one.

Definitely has been a pleasureable experience so far.

Thanks again to everyone here who made it happen, and thanks to Fast Toys.

Only thing I have wondered about...
Do you think AS&M will ship as each pair are made, or after they are all made?

I got a feeling I'm headed for divorce court.

But I can't believe what just happened.

I didn't even know there was such a thing as Group Purchases here.
I read this post last Friday September 22, 2006.

All weekend I could have kicked myself, because I would have loved to buy
a set of these runners.
It drove me wild thinking that the sale closed September 15.
I was 1 week too late.
Even though I've spent way more this year than I'm allowed to by my wife,
I sent an e-mail to Fast Toys asking if they would still
include me in the GP for $349.

And they said they would.

So, I just made my order online.

I just wish I had a better cashflow to buy more stuff.
I'll be hurt'n for while after this.
Just bought PHB, LCA, lca Relocation Brackets, & ATA a week eariler.

Too BAD Someone doesnt' send a copy of this to TPIS & show them
how to make a sale.( 10 to 20 times over)

Thats great. Fast Toys knows how to run a company. TPIS could learn something from them.

Hey guys,

while i'm waiting for these runners to arrive I've been aquiring more pieces for my intake. I'm picking up a 52MM TB and a TPIS big mouth base. Assuming I port my plenum to match the TB and AS&M LTR, what kind of HP/TQ would you guys anticipate picking up on a stock L98 (with headers and chip)?

TPIS Big Mouth Base
AS&M LTR
52MM TB w/Airfoil
Port-matched plenum

So excited, cant wait for it all to come together so I can put some actual numbers down

Do yourself a favour and don't waste your money on the larger throttle body. I absolutly, 100%, GUARENTEE you, for certain, there's no chance in hell you'll get any hp increase out of it what so ever. They're absolutely useless on anything short of 600hp and even then, you wouldn't gain much if any. You're throttle response will go right out the window if you install one. There will always be a slight "hesitation" when you stomp on the gas, kind of like a short "stumble" which will annoy the hell you. Larger throttle body's, (especially on L98's) are complete waste's of money. I've never met ANYBODY who gained anything from a larger throttlebody on their daily-drivers.

TRUST ME! I speak from experience. I was pushing more than 500+ at the wheels on my 4th gen LT1 and the Edelbrock/BBK 52mm throttlebody I bought didn't free up one single HP. Zip. Zero. Nada. ABsolutely nothing. This, like I said, was on a 500+ RWHP car that spun to 6500 RPM. Sure, the throttlebody looked nice, really cleaned up the engine compartment and made a cool "sucking" noise which sounded like a supercharger But the fact that it wasn't worth anything, and only messed up my throttle-response makes it very hard for me to reccomend this so-called "upgrade".

Your money is better spent elseware. Believe me.

Would you recommend an airfoil, LT1? I heard lots of waste of money comments on a larger TB. Would spending the $$$ on an airfoil be worth it?

Airfoil's are debatable. For the money, you might as well buy one and install it. I got mine for free and if I had the choice, I'd probably buy one. They help even the flow of air coming into the plenum. Less disturbance = better air flow = better performance. It's all up to you, but for the money, why not?

I have a custom cold air intake setup and without the air foil, you couldn't hear the air all that much coming into my K&N cone filter. Once I added the air foil the air coming in makes the CAI sound like a supercharger. I can hear it over my exhaust note and when the rpm's climb, so does the S/C sound

TPIS Big Mouth Base
AS&M LTR
52MM TB w/Airfoil
Port-matched plenum

I'm in a similar boat as I have the Big Mouth waiting to go in at the same time as the AS&M runners. I'd conservatively say 40HP with 50HP being my max guess. I'm not one to believe all the big numbers that aftermarket parts claim to be. But with the runners being the top notch quality they are as well as the long proven benefits of the Big Mouth used in combination, I think the power should be up considerably. Since you already have headers to suck that air out, combining the Big Mouth/big runners should make a definate difference in power.

Put it to you this way. TPIS says their Fast Pak is good for 34HP. I think the manifold and runners should at least be as good if not better.

I'll echo LT1Fun's response about the 52 mm TB. Personally I can't speak for it as I have the stock TB with airfoil. But I have known quite a few people who've put on the 52 mm setups with over 300HP at the wheels and they didn't really see much of a gain, if any. A 48 mm TB with airfoil is good for 700 cfm of dry airflow. That should be good for 400 HP if not more.

Looking at the yellow chart I put up above, the AS&M large tubes were good for an 83 hp and 52 tq peak gain, with no loss of power anywhere down low. Sure, it was a 383 all done up. But even with half of those gains, it would still be 41 hp and 26 tq.

The article comparing TPI intake systems said that with the large tube runners and big mouth base, that the torque was up 50 ft-lbs over a 2000 RPM spread. Again, the engine was a 400HP car before the runners/base was put on. But the point I'm making is that what we all bought is a very good mod. And what you've already put together so far (with the possible exception of the 52 mm TB) is a GREAT combination. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I just found out about this group buy. I'm going to talk to Phil if I can be added on Tuesday (Monday is Thanksgiving in Canada). Its probably too late but you never know.

Is there any possibility of a second group buy for AS&M runners?
