Del,

No new cancellations. We might consider another GP in the spring if AS&M is willing to build the runners ahead of time. It has take many months and they still have not completed our order. With that being said, we don't like to see our customers wait that long as it reflects poorly on us.

Thanks
So I guess I'll have to wait, those that are interested, keep an eye out here if it's brought back.

ASM Update

Hi Everyone,

We just wanted to leave you a quick status update. We will be closed for Winter vacation starting today and will reopen January 8th, 2007. We have contacted AS&M several times the past week and "encouraged" them to get more orders shipped. They said they are going to try and get more orders sent out after the holidays and we told them that people are upset that it has taken so long.

In the mean time, if anyone wants to speak with AS&M, the sales rep is Ben and he can be reached at (480) 753-0208

We would like to pass on our special wishes to all the third gen members to have a wonderful and safe new year. We look forward to working with you all in the new year

Thanks

Fast Toys Performance

Update

Hi Everyone,

We have been in contact with AS&M 3 times this week. We have spoke with the sales manager (Ben) and asked that he escalate the runner building process with the owner of AS&M. We have indicated that both we and our customers are very unhappy with the timeframe this has taken and that they have continued to break promises which reflect badly on both of our companies.

Ben has told us they have parts in stock to build the runners but they the staff assigned to build them. He is going to get back to us tomorrow with a firm update.

We do appreciate your patience and we will continue to nag/bug/email/call AS&M until every runner order has been shipped!

Update

We escalated this problem to the owner at AS&M. He is going to assign two of his employees to work on building the remaining runners. We have asked them to notify us as sets are ready to ship. We will email customers as they go out.

Thanks again for your patience.

I am trying not to be negative. But why do i get the feeling that these runners have never been priority at AS&M to fabricate up. I think it's

Fast Toys on the other end of the stick has there hands tied. I have been following this thread for curiousity sake, and it's unreal.

We'd have to agree

We "believe" that is the case as well. The runners were not given priority and they worked on other projects instead. Hopefully they will all get finished shortly and everyone can enjoy their purchase at last!

True. If I had to wait 6-7 months. I would want some type of savings from AS&M on top of the group purchase.

It rather sucks all around, but at least you (Fast Toys) are pulling for us. Thanks for keeping AS&M's feet to the fire.

Thanks FastToys for keeping us up to date with info from ASM. I admit placing my order several months ago under this group purchase, I know it would probably take longer than the 3 to 4 weeks ASM promised, but never expected it to go this far. When I inquired about getting the runners polished, I know that would add more time to my order so I opted not to have them polished, and just do it myself. Since waiting this long ASM should offer us the choice to have them polished at no extra cost. I doubt that would fly, but I’m dissatisfied with ASM handling with customers, this GP and there distributors. I am pleased with FastToys working with us and keeping us in the loop, you can’t say that about other companies out there. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again from FastToys, can’t say that about ASM. They might make a great product, but it’s ridicules to wait 4 plus months and counting. ASM has lost any feature business from me for life. I’m still going to wait for my order, since its winter and my babies in storage. But they better show up before spring.

I don't blame people for getting out. I already wrote off getting them in time and will plan on simply choking my 383 off until they actually get here. I'm happy with FT but absolutely amazed with AS&M. At this rate it might be better to convert a single plane or LT1 intake in the interim...

you could but it would take time and a lot of effort. but i think it would be more money than its worth. you could buy something like the edlebrock or accel single plan multi port injected manifold.

Weekly nag..

We spoke with AS&M again today to nag them to get some orders out the door. Ben told he is hoping to have some shipped out this week. We again conveyed that AS&M is getting a very poor reputation with their lack of action on these orders in hopes that it lights a fire under their ***.

We'll follow up Friday afternoon to see what they say.

Thanks again for your patience.

Hi all,,,,

Like most of you, I am disappointed to say the least with this group purchase. I originally was just going to buy these runners and shelf them until I needed them. I really want to get a super ram since I allready have the base. This runner purchase for me was to be a project for my son and I to accomplish. My son is 13yrs old and has taken an interest in his fathers Formula that he bought in 1987. Yes,,I am the original owner. I do intend to let him drive this car as I see it as a chick magnet for him in high school compared to those 4cyl tuner cars with coffee can tailpipes. But since I have considered cancelling this order, I do have a call into Fast Toys to see if I can swap out this runner purchase with some other product they may be hawking. As long as I have allready expensed this cabbage(money), I can always use it for other things for the car. I hope Fast toys would be gracious enough to give me credit for other things that my son needs.

See Ya

ZZ4mula

Talk to my wife she thinks I am an A@@hole most of the time. And I can be. But I have tried to sell my Formula and get either a Grand National or a 89 Turbo T/A and she said she likes this car too much. She gets to horse it and I get to fix it. By the way,,, WE only drive it maybe 300 miles a year since I retires it from daily service in 2000.

We spoke to Ben @ ASM today. They got one set completed today which will ship out Monday. We will notify the lucky person as soon as we get tracking info. Apparently they are going to try and get a set out ever other day next week. We'll keep checking with them!

Thanks

Thanks for the update FastToys. At one a week, I feel bad for the person that will be last to receive there runners. Knowing my luck it will be me. One a day sounds better, but still I doubt that will happen knowing there track record. I guess we’ll have to wait this out.

by the time i get my runners in ill have the TPIS base for my car.
i was thinking of getting out but this deal was just too good to let go of. although the thought of switching out the runners for a cat-back is sounding good..... this truly is madding

I was trying to think of anything they could do to enhance them for those who waited, but aside from polishing there really isn't anything. I don't think they're concerned with damage control anyway, since these runners probably aren't making them rich compared to products they can drop ship for simple profit.

I say a big thank you is in order for Fast Toys and them sticking with it as I follow this thread.

I was pleased with Fast Toys on the group purchase I was involved in with the Mufflex exhaust system. Looks like good folks to deal with.

Agreed. FT has been great with follow-ups on this one. It's now the first place I'll look as new needs arise for the Firebird. So a big to Fast Toys.

You're kidding...right?

18 weeks to deliver 5 sets...and you honestly think they'll have the other 14 sets done in only 3-4 more weeks? Highly unlikely.

J/K but this is really dragging. At least we found a solid vendor in Fast Toys. There's a silver lining to compete with your optimism

Oh. I wasn't aware that Reid's list reflected any order. As you stated, we'll see soon enough. Fingers crossed

1 set is shipping today and 2 sets tomorrow. We'll be emailing tracking #'s as soon as we have them.

Thanks

That's what I like to hear.

Hopefully AS&M will continue to ship at least 2-3 sets of runners a week until everyone who placed an order finally receives theirs.

Thanks again to all those at FastToys for keeping us all in the loop and letting us know what's going on. A lot of place's I've dealt with in the past would have wiped their hands clean of the situation after they got their money, so just to let you know, we ALL appreciate what you've done for us.

For some reason I get the distinct feeling had it not been for you guy's pressuring AS&M to get off their lazy @ss's and keep up production of their runners, we'd be waiting at least until September '07 until they were all shipped out.

If we'd all ordered from AS&M's website our selves, without going through you guy's, we'd pretty much be left on our own to deal with the situation.

Thanks again guy's.

You may not get too many orders for AS&M product's from here on out (at least not from this forum ) but you've definitely left a good impression with us in terms of your customer service.

I for one plan on throwing more business your way in the not too distant future.

Got my fingers crossed we have nothing but smooth sailing from here on out with everybody getting their runners in a timely fashion.

P.s>

Again, for all those who finally receive their order, let us know so we can update the tally.
