Hawks, cant you do a little better on the price? I think if you offered it for $250 plus free shipping, more people would be in. I doubt 10 people would order for just free shipping. I might be wrong. I will definetly wait on this part until.... if anything, changes.

This is a very labor intensive part and we have kept our price from going up to $350.00 for quite some time now. We have tried to stay competitive at the $299.00 price. The free shipping alone saves a good bit......

This is the only group purchase that seems like it could get serious and meet the quota. Let's lower the price to $250, you know there is at least 3 that would be interested. How much can shipping be anyways? This is not that large wrap around spoiler, probably be able to pack these in a large cylinder poster container.

Can I buy just the center section? Id be interested if so. I have a vert and would need to modify my side caps. No big deal. Just dont want to buy a setup when id just be tossing the end caps out anyways.

The price of $299.00 with the free shipping is the best that we can do. This spoiler is VERY labor intensive. It is physically made to the back of a camaro, and takes longer to make than the hoods we currently retail for $500. We have not risen the price of these to keep them selling good and keeping the fiberglass company busy with orders. We also want to stay competitive. We have never offered free shipping on these, which saves on average about $45. You can get other items shipped in the massive box and save on shipping that way....I will definitely help out and do better on pricing when I can...but this product we are already cutting down to the nuts and bolts. Let me know if I can help with any other questions. We may not be offering another group purchase on these, so get it while you can

It doesnt have the third brake light which 89's have in the trunk lid spoiler. Not sure if you can adapt it or not

 

assume the order doesnt meet the 10 minimum, will the ones that order anyways get free shipping?

It will fit, but the holes in the hatch are different. To get it to fit, you will have to drill new holes and fill some in.

the holes are different? does that mean drilling into the read deck lid? i didnt know this, not really wanting to drill. cant these be made to fit 87-90 irocs since they are all custom made? not interested if it has that much work involved to get them to work.

 

Bruce explained this to me and I get the idea, I am not exactly sure how to relay this in a message to come across clear enough to where you get the idea. If you make a 5" spoiler to fit a 3rd brake light it will be very fat at the base and not normal looking for the car. It might be a good idea to call the shop and speak to either Kyle, Steven or Bruce to get the whole idea...being as how I have not physically put one on myself, I have just seen them on the cars.

not really concerned about the third brake light, i understand that your spoiler was not meant for cars that has the third brake light in the spoiler. i thought all the deck lids had the same holes drilled from the factory, with the exception of an extra hole for the years that had the third brake light for the wires to run thru. can you just verify this for me?

You have to drill new holes for it to fit. the side pieces you can egg out if i remember right, but the middle is different.

Maybe we could all meet in the middle at $275? I know Bruce said $300 and everyone else is saying $250. Maybe?

 

The spoiler sides and center piece have different locations for holes. The 87-90 is physically taller than the other years due to the third brake light. I bought a notchback and tried to put my spoiler on it, but couldn't due to hole locations. It was drilled for up to 86 and 91-92 rs's

 

The holes are different in the quarter panels and the deck lid.

looks like im out since it wont fit my 1990. heather, why dont you start designing this spoiler for 87-90 with an integrated led third brake light? make it affordable and as a group purchase since no one that has an 87-90 car has one. good thing i never purchased the one you make now, glad i found out the easy way.

 

I know people who have bought one. You have to slightly elongate the holes on your deck lid to mount it they say.

 

Hey Everyone! We have looked into making them for the 87-90 models and the cost and labor involved for the mold process far outweighs the demand...at this point.....

Just my two cents not bashing or trying to start drama BUT
Bro its tough times and as a group purchase of 10 or more youd think more than a shipping discount would be waved around. Its $19.45 to ship to my door on hawksthirdgen. Just saying if your trying to entice a mass order to pull in some big revenue of an item that probably isnt being sold left and right you might want to make it a DEAL.

 

Thank you for the opinion.....Not everyone is as lucky to have such inexpensive shipping. Most of the time, the size of the box alone makes it more expensive and shipping is usually around $40 to $45.

id love to buy one but money is tight atm.

for those who want to put one of these on a car that is not listed (87-90) for i can supply u pics of the necasary mods needed to mount this on ur car.

iirc i had to drill 2/3 new holes in the decklid and i was able to file the holes for the side pieces

now i didnt install a 5inch spoiler but i did go from the factory spoiler which had the brakelight to the one without it , which is what these 5 inch spoilers bolt onto so the mods will be identical

 

Yep. Should have started this one off as '$350 and free shipping, saving you about $45-$50'. Then when everyone moaned about the $350 price, saying they could do $300, this would be a done deal.

You missing a few screws or are they just loose? Regular price is $300 bumping that up $50 bucks just to offer free shipping as an insentive is shady as ****. Really guy??

 

Regardless you are either in or out at the current offer. 250-275 would be awesome but doesnt seem like its gonna happen. 299 with free ship still seems justified considering the size of the spoiler and fabrication involved. I wouldnt expect shipping to be under 20 dollars. I dont know the weight however but a delicate glass object needs sturdy packaging and id pay to make sure its delivered in proper shape. Delivery companies are not easy on parts. I have seen alot of beat up packages over the years. Some things do go thru rough transit.
If its 30 or so bucks shipping, then at 10 orders hawks is giving up 300 bucks in costs. They probably arent making that much per order considering the labor process.

I think the above made the point but used wrong pricing. It should have been priced at 250+ shipping and end up costing 300 anyway just like current offer of 300 with free ship. that likely would have fooled more ppl

 

List price shows on their web site as $350, I assumed that was before the group purchase was announced. I've dealt with Hawk's ThirdGen on several occasions, and find them to be a very good bunch of folks to work with. Top notch and on the level.

Thank you for suggesting I'd recommend something shady without really knowing me.

I think you would sell a lot more if you lowered the price, these spoilers look great and I would really like one but not at 300 bones. Anyone who installs this has to pay for it to be painted to match which you can count on being like 100 so you would end up paying around 400 dollars which seems pretty steep for an extra 2-3 inches of spoiler .

 

If you don't wanna pay for it. Don't buy it. Just that simple.
