Sticker/Decal questions

Just got my new car...

It needs to be repainted somewhere along the line. Question... Is there any way besides taping off the stickers to save them? Like has anyone tried removing them and then maybe using a double sided tape or similar?

I think it would probably be easier to just remove the decals and put new one's on after the paint. Most 3rd gen decals are pretty easy to find repro's of.

Edit: you mean the GTA badges? Def. remove them before paint. Im sure you can find some good adhesive to re-apply them. Lots of folks have done it.

Or (here is something I been contemplating), remove the sticker carefully and store them. Find a sticker place that can copy them and there you go, OEM duplicates exactly like yours. Just a thought ...

Or use clear tape, like for use on shipping boxes, and apply it over the sticker. Plus this extra layer will help protect the original stickers from peeling or snagging.

Yea, good luck getting it off in one piece. I tried unsuccessfully. Which is why I no longer have a sticker on mine. No aftermarket sticker available and ASC has none (I asked). They threw it all away when they closed the City of Industry plant. I suggest masking it off to re-paint. Then use clear packaging tape (as I recall it's not wide enough?) or get a sheet of self-sealing laminating plastic from the stationary store and cut a piece from it. I used it to wrap my headlights. No more broken lenses from stones. Lon
