1982 FIREBIRD ROAD TESTS the public opinion on the new generation

Have any of you the first Thirdgen Road tests of all engines available ??
i would like to see specs on the First Thirdgen appreciation for all the engines ...i would like to know how the people react to the change of the Second gen to the Thirdgen ¡¡¡
and if they were a deception or all went happy home with their new Firebirds ¡¡¡¡
Thirdgens were on the street on late 1981 ?????

sammycalderon,

At that time period the magazines were more impressed with the handling of the Z/28 / Trans Am and its new dramatic styling.

This is a quote from the then editor of Motor Trend John Dianna "To me, the Camaro is fine-if overdue-example of Detroit's capabilities. It is truly a mature automobile."

It was awarded for 1982, Motor Trends car of the year.

It sure wasn't given that award for its 165 HP Cross-Fire Injection Motor.

I like having a car that has matured.

No scanner. Try reading ThirdGen's Magazine Articles on the main page.
