Purple Haze Question

Alright, i've been looking ALL OVER the net for production numbers so i wouldnt have to bother you guys with another bland numbers question.. but please help me out here. I've gotta find out about my car... '92 25th anniv. Camaro Z-28 L98, and Purple Haze. I've heard Purple haze is really really rare. Could someone enlighten me a bit on that? I've also heard my car is one of very few having 25th ann., L98, and Purple Haze. What would you pay? She just cracked the 100,000 mile mark with 100,013 on it. Car looks real good, no rust, a few stone chips and aftermarket T-tops ( )... well, thanks a lot for what you can do.:hail: :hail: Hope i didnt bother ya too much.

sounds like a nice car, but color alone w/25th will not make it a rare "wanted" car in my book.
i think some of the 3rd gens in the Rare, "wanted" would be
the B4C
a Firehawk
82 z-28 pace car
87 Z-28 convert'
the golden goose "85 z-28 350" :lala:
and a few others of course

sure there might only be 500 with that combo that you said but that really doesn't make it a "wanted" car

I've never seen a purple haze Z just RS.

I've seen two of them for sale in my area in the last 3 months, one of which was bought up by my friend a few weeks ago, 92 annv edition, purple haze, 98,xxx miles on it, needed some paint work cuz it was starting to fade to white especially on teh blisters, hardtop though, l98, and he got it for 4500. it wasn't a bad deal IMO just needs a little caring for.

When you guys talk about 25th anniversary, are you talking about heritage package cars? You are aware that every 92 camaro that rolled off the line got an anniversary dash badge, so calling a 92 a 25th anniversary car is pretty silly. In most folks mind it implies it's a heritage car, which a purple haze / silver stripe car is pretty rare among the heritage cars.

as you said saying a 25th anniversary 1992 Camaro is a redundancy, but if i take your point than i'm right in saying a 25th ann. car.. not both, i went out on assuming that someone knows 25th ann. = 1992. I knew better, i was just typing too fast with too much to say when i through them both in there at first. It is not heritage edition... either... (that's why i didnt say that it was)...

I hate to say it, but I think it's gonna be a LONG time before you see prices go up on your average 3rd gen. Course that's a good thing too, makes em easier for the average Joe (or Mike) to afford.

Look at the 1st gens, a guy has a 69 250 hp 327, hardtop with gobs of miles on the odometer, and it's got column shift auto. The column shift was a definite rarity among these cars, but it was for a reason... no one wanted it. Take that same car, put an all aluminum 427 under the hood, (heck I'd even settle for iron block) and all of a sudden, if it's original documented, it's worth more than most folks house! Why? because EVERYONE wanted one, and it was the baddest boy in the city!

When you think rarity, you should also think desirability, they go hand in hand when it comes to investment. I've only been watching this board for a short time, but the guys on here have already confirmed what I knew, the 1LE is the one to have for investment. Hey they built what, 600 92's? definitely not 1 of 69 but the desirable factor shoots em thru the roof! They'll never be a COPO price range, but they'll always be worth more than a same model year camaro with an unusual option combination...UNLESS that combination has a VERY hi desirability factor. (personally I like my a/c)

Before you ask "Is this rare?" you should ask yourself if others would find it desirable, cuz that's where the money is.
low build color= low desire
low build performance option= hi desire
low build factory race car= very hi desire

You have a purple Camaro? good
You have a purple Camaro with B4C package and lo miles? now you have my attention
You have a purple Camaro with 1Le package and lo miles, and it's an 88 model? I can smell the money!

What's wrong with rare colors.. you want every third gen you see to be red or black? Zzzzz......

there is nothing wrong with rare colors. the guy was just wondering if his "rare" color car is worth any more because of it.
be different, if not we would be driving hondas.
