...obviously I tried GM...the dealers are claiming that the part numbers are coming up discontinued...

I'm looking for a set of belts for my '87 Trans Am (non serpentine obviously)...the car has only 20,600 original miles on it, and it is 100% factory original...I really was hoping I could find a set of GM stamped belts...I have all the original belts and hoses on it right now, but the belts are starting to look a bit dry...I'd hate for one to snap...

...worst case, I'll get generic belts, and put my originals away until someone reproduces them one year...

Thanks for any help guys...

I can't find that paper I wrote them down on at the moment...I'll get over to the garage where the car is sometime this week, lift the cover, and copy them down again...

Thanks...

BTTT!

Sorry for the (very?) late reply... The car has only gone about 800 miles since the original post here last September. Anyways, I got the #'s off them...

GM#14091516 - Smog Pump Belt
GM#14081276 - A/C Belt
GM#14101197 - Alternator Belt

Any help is greatly appreciated. If I can't find a set (which I'm doubting I will) I'm gonna have to get some smooth (most of the ones I have looked at are grooved) generic belts, and I'm gonna have to remove the stampings and re-stamp them with GM #'s

...also still looking (and probably will be for a long long time) for an NOS set of 245/50/16 Eage VR50's

GM should have a replacement for the originals belts. Nobody has the originals anymore...gmpartsdirect.com, etc.

You are out of luck on the original Eagle tires as well. They are long gone. You will have to go to the ZR50's for Goodyears.

I posted this because dealers no longer list replacements for my car, same # or otherwise, and I figured somebody might know of somewhere who deals in old stock.

And I know they haven't made those tires in years (NOS - New Old Stock), that's why it'll be hard to find them. And the ZR's only come in 245/45/17 (stock Mustang GT size).

That dealer must be an idiot. I got a set of replacement GM belts a couple months ago for a friends LG4. I'll see if I can get the numbers from him.

Goodyear has 5 listings for 245/50ZR/16's.
Try:

Thanks for the info, but I guess I should specify more.

The car is a 21k mile original. I'm looking for smooth replacement belts. GM markings would be great, if not, I can re-stamp them, I jsut want smoooth ones, not ribbed/notched belts, to retain the factory look. The car is totally stock, and I want to keep it as original as possible.

As far as tires, I know Goodyear makes a bunch of 245/50/16s. One day, if I ever found any, I'd love to put a set of the original equipment VR50's back on, but until then, I'm fine... I have a set of perfect Eagle RSA's on it (as you'll see below). While they look stock-ish, they're not 100% correct to the way the car came, that's all
