Camaro ZF

Hi all I have been reading some questions on the Camaro ZF some say there was never one made, well guess what I own one. and it does have a cheesy woodgrain dash and console. It is not even real wood its a stack of paper about 1/4 inch thick and covered with the woodgrain sticker they used to put on the sides of station wagons. mine is kind of odd looking it is red with the Z28 style grille and spoiler but no ground effects and the silly pin stripes, and a removeable sunroof. It has a 2.8L multiport and a 5 speed tranny. The car is fairly quick and handles well although not in the same universe as a V8 it can jump up to 80mph pretty quick(it is great from stoplight to stoplight if you drive it hard) I ran the VIN through the Vin computer and below is what it came back with.

Here are the results for your query on: 1G1FP87S5FN152825
Made in: United States
Manufacturer: General Motors
Make: Chevrolet
Carline Code: F-Body
Carline Series: Sport Coupe, Z28
Body Type: 2 door coupe
Engine Code: 173 ci V6 LB8 (1986)
5 is the CHECK DIGIT.
Model Year: 1985
Assembly Plant: Norwood
Production Sequence: 152825

Hope this clears up some confusion. I will post some pics soon as I figure out the digital camera and before i drop a V8 in it and paint it. Hmmmmm maybe the cheesy wood will be a good candidate to start the grill..............

If you're considering getting rid of the "wood" dash, I'll trade ya for my plain one.

I have a ZF too, and the wood dash I beleive is real. Mine is a carbed 2.8. Next time I go down to my car Ill take some pics of it. Mine also has ZF emblems on it, but the badges were removed from the car when i bought it. Mine has a moonroof and came with the extended range sound system. it handles as well as my trans am, but is as slow as a three legged dog.
