Unknown RPO Code

I hope this is the right place to ask this.

I was looking up my RPO codes the other day and came across a code that isn't in the database. The code is E7Z. Yes I checked to make sure I wrote it down right. Does anyone know what it is?

Its not in the official GM Book of RPO codes, so who knows. I have found that alot of these RPO codes don't have a meaning, or at least not to the consumer. They might have meant something to the engineer or assembly line worker, but I don't think it was a selectable option, like JG1 or G80. I wouldn't worry about it.

Unkown RPOs like that are unique only to that car because while the car is being built something was altered or fixed during production. Possibly bad or good...Which inturn the Plant puts it onto the RPO so they know what happened to the car...As to ur unknown RPO I have no clue what it means.

Jim, you looked up "E72" which is something different. But that option was a body that was lengthened 18 inches for whatever reason.

90TA, I don't know where you found that, but it makes sense, that is a common option. Perhaps this car has a speedo cable? While we are at it, maybe you know what the E5Z on my '92 is

I think it has to do with the fact that your speedo is not gear driven but computer driven. My 85 Firebird has both these codes: E5Z, E7Z.

Thanks guys. It makes sense since my car also has codes E5Z and E9Z which both have something to do with the speedometer.
