Looks like some mechanic hit your car with a magic marker. I've seen people do that before.
Its the distributor base timing. Thats the factory setting. It may be on an underhood decal, making that ink mark rather silly.
I seriously doubt SLP did that. GM sure didnt.

Alright, I'll remove it then. Thanks for confirming what I thought. I fiigured as much because someone has also written their name and a date on the bottom of the hood. It was a name I did not recognize and the date was in 1996. I'm going to remove that marking as well.
Oh 1 more question, what do I remove the marks with that will not harm the paint or the patina? Both marks look like a Sharpie.....

I agree, that is not a GM mark. Like Madmax said, look for the underhood emissions sticker. If there isn't one, or if it is not for the engine that is in your car, I would leave it. I wouldn't put it past SLP to write it on the radiator support, and that may matter down the road. I would check with any other 3rd gen Firehawk owners to see if they have that mark too.

Well since I have the aluminum hood, I have no emissions sticker. Could that be it? I guess I'll have to email some of the other hawk owners first before I remvoe it then....
