i got hit and now the paint is light blue..HOw can i tell if the car is a real pace car?

 

The interior is a dead giveaway. If it has the silver vinyl and blue cloth, I would bet it is an original Pace Car. They are really not worth that much more that people would fake them yet????

Try this. Is the trim tag on the upper radiator tie bar still there?
If so like Indy 82Z said the interior of the pace cars is unique and sports code 26G. This is on the second row and is the first code.
Also the paint code 16L 16U is on these tags even though it seems to be a two tone car?
But if your tag has the 26G code, pace car all the way!

 

This post makes no sense. The car was obviously repainted, but why would you think it's a Pace Car?

 

is there a engine code for the pace cars?

 

No specific engine codes. They got the same 305's (std. LG4 or CrossFire) as the regular Z28's.
