FE2 was the firmest of the three suspension packages available for the Camaros. FE1 was the softest, F41 was in the middle, and FE2 was the firmest.
As far as "computer selected spring", basiclly the computer decided what springs the car got based on what the car was equipped with (i.e. 3.1L V6 + F41, or L98 + FE2, etc...)

Well, its not that simple. GM had TONS of springs for these cars, all identified by a three letter code (not to be confused with RPO code) and I think it took a computer to decide what springs were needed. Each option you could order had a certain weight.
For example, option AU3: Electric door locks. Having this option added 2.0 lbs to the vehicle. Option AQ9: Front Reclining bucket seats added a whopping 11.4 lbs to the car. Having Option J65: 4-wheel disc brakes, actually shaved 1.4 lbs off the vehicle weight. The point I'm getting at, is as the car gets heavier or lighter, it takes a certain spring rate to acheive a desired feel. Last time I looked up springs for a 1991 Camaro, there were about 10 different springs available.
